When Life Gets Incredibly Boring

It is officially the home stretch. For some reason I always forget that the last half of the semester is just a huge ball of work and stress. The first half of the semester I just sit around laughing at how easy college is and never having any work and then WHAM. All of a sudden I'm working all the time. And yeah, I know what you're going to say, okay? I understand that if I did work ahead of time and didn't leave everything to the last minute I wouldn't have this problem.

But listen, my procrastination runs deeper than you know. By foul craft Saruman has crossed Orcs with goblin men. He's breeding an army in the caverns of--wait no, now I'm just quoting Lord of the Rings. Can you tell I'm going a little stir crazy? If only Aragorn would save me from my work.

Anyway, the moral of this story is that I've spent 5 hours in the Art Studio everyday for the past three days, and the times I've not been there I've been either sleeping, eating, or studying. Luckily, I'm pretty much finished with the drawing version of my self portrait.

I've never drawn myself before, so this has been a strange experience. Also, her (my?) eyes look weird. I've nearly finished with the charcoal version of the copy drawing we're doing as well, so I'm feeling a bit better about my work load for this week. Still, there are a lot of things to get done.

Unfortunately, all the tiny little swirls and details on her dress are taking me forever to do, and I need to redo the bottom section, as it's a mess.

This week has been a reminder to me that where ever you are, living is just living. You have your routine, and sometimes you're too busy to marvel at the beautiful sights around you. Still, having a routine in Italy, is something I've had time to marvel at.
