Somewhere between Port Alberni and Tofino there's a river that winds around mountains and over rocks. A river that cuts through forests with rapids and waterfalls. It runs beside the tiny highway that connects Tofino to the rest of the world. In September, the trees look green or tinged with gold depending on the light and the mist rolls in before every storm. The storms come often and the mountains are more beautiful for it.
